Try using AppleWorks -- a good, inexpensive, all-round utility package (and
yes, there is a Windows version if you are not a Mac user). I create all kinds
of mathematical artwork and text with AW.
Otherwise, I am sure that you will get many recommendations for some free
drawing program or other that runs under Windows. Sometimes a word-processor
(even a fancy one) is just not the right tool.
