[MATHEDCC] Student Motivator--Scanners and Text Editors

Has anyone purchased a scanner to "scan in" newspaper articles
so that students are more engaged with the lesson?

If yes, my question is: After a frame or a page is "scanned
in", how do you edit it? How, for example, do you enlarge
the text so that when it (that is, when a transparency of the text) is
projected on a screen, the
students in the back of the room can see ALL the text?

Is special software required? If yes, which software?

P.S. By the way, what's the status of the Freeway Flyer?
Things are very quiet lately.
