Yes, you need Scientific Notebook installed on your computer to view
Scientific Notebook documents on the web, but there is a free "viewer"
version available for downloading. But it is more than a viewer - it
has all capabilities of the full package, which means students can DO
mathematics with it as well as view mathematics! The only functions not
available in the 'viewer" version are saving changes to documents and
printing... Chasing around for a way to convert LATex to HTML ignores
the beauty of Scientific Notebook.
If all you want is to create mathy documents in HTML, a simply way is to
create them in Lotus WordPro (SmartSuite '97 version) and save them to
the internet. This new version saves in HTML and does a lovely job with
the mathematics material. The equation editor in WordPro is the same
one as in Scientific Notebook.
