Hello everybody,

Since this listserv is an official AMATYC list, I have decided to use it
to conduct some AMATYC business. It is once again time to make plans for
the AMATYC Annual Conference to be held this year in Atlanta
Nov 13-16. We have over 150 presentations this year, and so far, I have
had volunteers for presiders for over half of them. Many thanks to
those of you who have already volunteered.

I have posted a listing of sessions, workshops and minicourses that still
need presiders, on the NMMATYC Homepage (available to view NOW)
(http://www.unm.edu/~nmmatyc) and there will also be a link (available for
viewing next week) to the listing on the AMATYC Atlanta Conference page at
<http://www.dc.peachnet.edu/~unixcorn/amatyc97.php>

If you are planning to attend the Atlanta Conference, please look at the
list and choose a session, workshop or minicourse you would like to
preside over. Remember, presiders for workshops and minicourses are not
required to pay the workshop/minicourse fee.

Please send me an email (there is an email link to me right on the
listings page -clever, eh!) and let me know which session(s) you would
like to preside over. I will be gone for a few days (now that my summer
semester is finally over), but will be in touch with you regarding your
presider assignments as soon as I return. I would like very much to have
all this finalized within 2-3 weeks-- before the end of August-- so we can
get the program information ready by the deadline.

Thanks so much to all of you (whom I know will vounteer immediately upon
receipt of this fervent plea for help :-)

Thanks again,

Mary Robinson
AMATYC Presider Chair
