CHAT ON LINE with George Andrews about his presentation at the upcoming
ICM.
Mark this on your calendar: Tuesday, August 4th, at 1:00 pm EDT.
That's the date and time for the first CRAFTY chat conference. This is an
experiment in using the internet to improve communication and allow
greater interaction between people interested in improving the quality of
calculus programs.
In the future this medium may be a way to open discussions between
differing points of view and allow people to learn more about alternatives
and question others with different experiences.
The first guest is PROFESSOR GEORGE ANDREWS (Pennsylvania State
University), a critic of many reforms and an advocate for a different
agenda of changes.
You can prepare to talk with Professor Andrews by reading his comments in
advance of the ICM which can be found at
http://www.math.uiuc.edu/documenta/xvol-icm/18/Andrews.MAN.html
The CRAFTY chat room page is currently:

Please try to be a little early for the conference so you can read the
courtesy rules for joining the chat. Hope to see you there.
Cordially,
Martin Flashman
