This discussion on creating and displaying mathematics on the Web has
iderntified various techniques that are mostly common.
The problem is that they all reduce the mathematics to graphic images,
which means they can never become "live" math again.
Scientific Notebook is a web browser for TeX documents and allows you to
create and display math naturally using a WYSIWYG equation editor. The
best advantage is that students can DO math with the software which has
an excellent interface to Maple.
Documents can be sent back and forth, using Scientific Notebook as the
browser.
