Nancy,
We try to run at least one workshop each year for our adjuncts. The
emphasis is always on technology. We typically divide the day into two
parts: part 1 deals with the "how to" of the technology under discussion
(calculator, new software, on-line stuff, etc.); part 2 is always geared
toward how to include the technology as a meaningful part of the pedagogy.
Part 21 is clearly the more important. We spend a lot of time sharing
projects and assignments that have been successful, we warn about pitfalls
to avoid, we emphasize that the technology is NOT the end is merely one more
tool to achieve our ends. These workshops are always well attended and well
received.
Hope that helps a bit.
