Annette,
Since no one seems to be jumping up to help you on this last question, I'll
offer my $0.02.
When you create a PDF, you have the option of whether or not to include the
fonts used in your document. I suspect that you had chosen NOT to include
fonts when you made the PDF. In that case, it could still appear fine on
your home PCs because you have the Mathtype fonts installed there that you
used to create the document in the first place. But at work, I'll bet you
don't have the same fonts (or a newer version from MathType of the same name?).
Anyway, in my experience, if you intend to share a PDF with the general
public you cannot assume they have the correct fonts, so you should include
all your fonts (at least the atypical ones) in the PDF. Yes, it makes it a
little bigger file, but it will always be readable!
If I'm mistaken about this, I'd welcome someone else's wisdom.
