Subject: Seeking Internet Policy for Students
We have been an Internet site for a year now and have offered it free to
students, thanks to an initial NSF and Title III grants. Because these
are at end and we are planning to expand our service to include Web/grahics
browers and we expect to charge users for dial up service. Our on campus
machines would still provide free access. I would appreciate
responses regarding how other Community Colleges pay for this new
technology.
We are also seeking a tested computer use policy that will protect the
college if students post Web pages and use e-mail. We've seen the policy
at UC Berkeley but want to research as many as possible in an effort to
anticipate problems.
