Elementary Algebra: 50.6%
Intermediate Algebra: 48.2%
College Algebra: 49.2%
Precalculus: 44.7%
Obviously, we aren't satisfied with these numbers and continue to experiment
with ways to improve them. But I must say that these rates have been relatively
stable despite all of our efforts.
On a slightly brighter note, we have somewhat better luck with students who
earned a C or better in our sequence and then continued on:
C or better rate in Intermediate Algebra after having a C or better
in Elementary Algebra: 59.4%
C or better rate in College Algebra after having a C or better
in Intermediate Algebra: 71.4%
C or better rate in Precalculus after having a C or better in College Algebra:
58.6%
Again, these numbers are nothing to brag about, but do not seem to be atypical.
