Hi Laura
I do realize it is tacky to use this forum for
advertising, but the text Modeling, Functions, and Graphs
by Katherine Yoshiwara, et al., (Books Cole) is an
intermediate algebra book that requires a graphing
calculator. It was written specifically for use with the
TI-82, but of course other calculators can also be used.
I suspect you will find many of the problems
non-routine. In case you haven't guessed, the principal
author is my wife (and I am listed as one of the
co-authors). If you get a chance to examine the book and
are interested in what we do when teaching from it, feel
free to contact us.

Can anyone recommend an intermediate algebra text that incorporates
graphing calculator technology and/or has non-routine word problems in it?
