[MATHEDCC] CAS in TYC

This is in reply to George Dorner's question if anyone was interested in
the TI-92 in TYC. Here are some conferences that have sessions involving
the TI-92.

The joint 11th Annual ORMATYC Conference and AMATYC Crossroads Regional
Workshop scheduled for April 24-17, 1997, has a Friday workshop on Cabri
Geometry (and Cabri on the TI-92) by James King of the University of
Washington, a Saturday morning session on Using Technology in Teaching
Algebra by Wade Ellis of West Valley College (a similar talk by Wade at the
CMC3 Conference last December dealt with the TI-92), and a Saturday
afternoon workshop on Discovery Learning with the TI-92 and the CBL by
Kandace King and Phil Thurber of Portland CC. Contact Kathy Taylor at

The AMATYC Summer Institute at Hawaii Community College scheduled for June
1-6, 1997, will have sessions on Techonolgy Tools in the Mathematics
Classroom including an introduction to the TI-92. The speaker will be Judy
Ackerman of Montgomery College. Contact Mary Ann at 808-933-3535 or email

The AMATYC Summer Institute at Ricks College scheduled for July 28-August
2, 1997, will have a course on the TI-92 Handheld Mathematics Assistant as
a Tool Throughout the Two-Year College Mathematics Curriculum: From
Arithmetic Through Calculus. The instructor will be Gregory Foley of Sam

There is also the Third International Derive and TI-92 Conference scheduled
for July 14-17, 1998, at Gettysburg College. The keynote speakers will be
Josef Boehm (Austria), Wade Ellis (USA), and Adrian Oldknow (UK). Contact
