Subject: Re: [MATHEDCC] Distance Online Courses

Hi all,
From my conversations with many of you and from the turnout at my =
sessions
at AMATYC and ICTCM, I have decided to license my Online College Algebra
course for use at other institutions.

The AMATYC listserv for Distance Education is working on many of the =
issues
involved in distance and in particular online mathematics education. =
Most of
these issues will have to be determined at the local level for quite =
some
time. These issues include compensation, testing, copyrights, class =
size, and
time allotment. While many of these issues are being discussed, faculty =
have
been asked to create online versions of their day courses. This has =
proven to
be a difficult challenge for many. I have had numerous inquiries as to =
the
licensing of my course which has run for 5 semesters. The course is =
based
upon a well known textbook and its supplements. It is truly interactive, =
but
not loaded down with slow loading java script.

Please visit its home at <A HREF=3D"http://www.distancemath.com">
http://www.distancemath.com</A>.

Thank you all for your support and friendship. I look forward to hearing =
from
many of you.
