Worst teaching strategies:
#1: Make the class really easy without challenges.
#2: Tell the students the first day of class that only 5 of them (out of
30) will make it through.
#3: Do not let students interrupt the most important thing going on in
class--the teacher's talking--to ask questions. When they do ask a
question, belittle them and let them know how stupid the question is.
#4: Never give feedback except on tests--then only as a graded judgment of
the student's work. When handing back the tests, let the students know how
that they are lazy, unmotivated, and not smart enough to be in your class.
#5: Run a strictly lecture class and talk to the blackboard while writing
things the students cannot read.
#6: Run a cooperative work class without well-structured activities focused
on learning then give no feedback about the student's work.
I teach all levels--Basic Math through Differential Equations.
