[MATHEDCC] Survey

I am presenlty on a search committee for a new math faculty. Our college is
understandably very concerned about equity and fairness in hiring. If you
have ver served on a screening committee (deciding who to invite for
interivews, interviewing them, and then recommending who to hire) please
answer these questions.

1. Was the committee told which candidates were "minority applicants"?

2. Should the committee be told?

3. What does the law say? Is it mandatory to tell the committee? Is it
forbidden to tell the committee? Is it left to the discretion of the
institution whether or not to tell the committee?
