That science project is about 2 months old, but the kids neglected to
put a stop date so this message keeps rearing its ugly head. The kids
nearly crashed their server when they got something like 50,000
messages in two days. About 200 people posted the "cute" idea to
various listservs, but we all thought it was finally dead. Please
send a message to anyone you sent the original message to, saying
DON'T DO IT!!!!!

I had the same thought, but figured that since it doesn't require
massive output for minimal payoff, why not respond. Perhaps it will
happen that the line of communication will be severed with the end of
school and the mail daemon will enter the picture. Then we will get
the message! ;-)
