I am probably beating a dead horse, but this attitude is what I was refering
to yesterday. Many teachers see a calculator as a machine that does
mathematics. In a traditional class with a traditional text, one may only do
mathematics -- not understand mathematics. Of course these teachers see it
as cheating.

Would I be cheating my students if I didn't use a calculator to help me
teach mathematics?
