I also would like to know how other schools deal with retaking courses. Right
now, if a student fails a course, they may retake that course and the new grade
is used to recalculate the GPA. Our students may only retake a course they have
failed. The original course remains on the transcript but is no longer part of
the GPA. If a student fails the course a second time and tries a third, the GPA
includes the second F as well as the third grade.
Do any of you have a policy of unlimited retakes on courses?
How about restrictions on the original grade, a D or F only, in order to retake
a course?
Thanks,
Carol Lerch
