QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate preferred (M.S. or its equivalent required) in Mathematics.
Must have minimum of eighteen graduate semester hours (twenty-seven
quarter-hours) in mathematics.
Primary interest in and firm commitment to the teaching/learning
process in the two-year college. Experience in the use of instructional
technology highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and staff.
Good communications skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Normally teach a fifteen credit-hour load each semester in mathematics
both on and off campus.
Fulfill other faculty responsibilities such as committee work,
academic advisement, and department/division planning, development, and
assessment.
Adhere to the policies and procedures of the University System of
Georgia and Waycross College.
Report to the Chairperson of the Mathematics, Business, and Physical
Education Department within the Division of Arts and Sciences.
The Division of Arts and Sciences offers courses in Mathematical Modeling,
Precalculus, Statistics, Calculus and Technology. The ideal candidate
should be prepared to teach a selection of these courses.
CONTRACT PROVISIONS:
This nine-month, tenure-track position is available beginning August 1,
1998. Salary and rank are dependent upon education and experience.
