I agree, Vern:
The price of communication with out fellow human beings always
involves a modicum of content not of overwhelming interest or
immediate interest to personally.
Any form of communication involves some "noise". To eliminate "noise"
completely usually eliminates the communication itself.
I am certainly happy with the list, though the suggestions
concerning personal messages, if followed would save us all some
time.

The chit-chat and requests are useful and can be minimized when the
responders remove the TiME address and put the personal address in
its place. Sometimes people simply forget. It is far better to make
mistakes and ask forgiveness than to be a tryrant of protecol and lose
opportunities to communicate. Tolerance is needed not arrogance. The
TiME listserve is doing very well given the volunteer nature of the
system. Keep up the good work Brian and Co.
