The College of Micronesia - FSM is the lead source of higher education =
for the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The FSM is a developing =
Pacific island nation with close ties to the US. See our newly =

POSITION
Math Instructor/Computer Lab Manager
STARTING SALARY RANGE
$16,146 - $17,810 (initial contract is 3 years)
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
Housing, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Transportation of contracted =
faculty and his/her family, Transportation of household effects.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS
Master's in Math/Math Ed or Computer Science
2 years teaching at Post-Secondary level in mathematics with additional =
emphasis in computer science or MIS
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES=20
Successful candidate should demonstrate that he/she is:
- able and willing to teach Math from Developmental level through at =
least College Algebra.
- thoroughly knowledgeable in teaching-with-technology with specific =
application in the use of computers as instructional aids.
- able to maintain computer lab network (PC).
- well versed in Linux, Windows NT and Windows 95/98 operating systems.
- able to advise in selection of Math and Natural Science instructional =
software.
- able to manage student lab monitors (work-study).
- able to work with members of the faculty and administration in =
addressing lab needs and instructors' needs in using the lab.
- sensitive to the needs of ESL students and students with low levels of =
math and science educational background.
- able to communicate well both verbally and in written form.
- hard-working, dependable, able to work without constant supervision.
- able to work on planning committees for curriculum and technology =
development.
- able to academically advise students to successfully complete their =
degree plan and plan for future career choices.
