The Developmental Math Committee of AMATYC is hosting its annual "Network
and Sharing" session. (Saturday, November 16, 7:30-9:30 -- for those
going to Long Beach)

We would like your help in selecting the topics for the network and sharing
session, even if you are not attending the Long Beach conference.

Purpose of the topics:
The room for the network and sharing session is organized around
4 general topics, so that people can sit with others who have a
similar interest. Those at a table often explore a variety of
issues related (directly or indirectly) to that topic.

The general topics should have appeal, so that more people will
come. (The networking and sharing certainly depends on people
being there!) In this sense, the topics should be "current" --
having interest for a variety of math faculty.

"Developmental math" remains an 'undefined term'; informally, we
include arithmetic courses, beginning algebra courses, and some
intermediate algebra courses.

Previously, we have used topics like:
Cooperative/collaborative learning
Math Labs/learning centers
Graphing calculators
etc

Our question:
WHAT GENERAL TOPIC(S) WOULD YOU SUGGEST??

You can send your response to the list, or to me privately.

Thanks for your help!!
