Jack,

Thanks for the opportunity for input.

I am interested in ways to implement #2 of the "Basic Principles" of
Crossroads in Mathematics in my developmental math courses:

"The mathematics that students study should be meaningful and relevant.
Mathematics should be introduced in the context of real, understandable
problem-solving situations."
