I know you have other concerns about this, but if you are worried about
grading the tons of exams you will have, I suggest you look at an article
in a past issue of the MAA's Focus. It dealt with the content of the
Japanese university entrance exams and it explained a very clever format
they use for machine grading the exams even though the answers are not
multiple choice. I think it was in an issue two years ago. (Maybe someone
on the list can give
us a reference. In a fit of Spring cleaning I tossed all of my past issues.)
