I don't have much to offer on the subject of whether students with
severe math learning disabilities qualify for waivers of math
requirements. There are more issues with the ADA and the value of
the degree for the student with the disability and for the other
students in the program then I can sort through in a single morning.
Regarding dyslexia, however, if you haven't you might consider
watching the video "How Difficult Can This Be?" It offers
the viewpoint that double time on exams and other allowances are the
fair thing to do (watch the video before you reply) by putting a
group of workshop participants through activities where their ability
to read and process information is compromised. A quick Internet

And regarding math anxiety I hope that by "Get over it" everyone
means- "You need this class to succeed in your goals. Here are some
ways to change some of your self defeating behaviors. Here are some
other groups and classes on campus that can help you." I'd welcome a
discussion of what these ways are and what these groups are at other
colleges.
