For example, I give them a picture of a circle with a terminal side of
an angle, A, in standard position (in whatever quadrant I choose) and
ask questions like the following. (I only give the picture, not the
point where the terminal side and the circle meet.)
"In each of the following state whether the statement is true, false, or
if there is not enough information to tell. Explain how you decided.
sin A is approximately equal to -1.35 and cos A is approximately equal
to 4.56.
tan A could be -4.38
sin 2A is positive.
tan (1/2 A) is positive."
