Whose standards and for what purpose? Also I know we all use metaphors to
help explain somthing, I am just not sure that buying a house or car is the
appropriate metaphor.
1. This use a classic economic model where perfect information is not
possible and the sellers are at the very least questionable. I buy from a
person I know.

2. Standards in my view can be a minimum or a maximum, others will argue
the point. National and state standards or course standards are usually
minimums that must be added to locally (in the classroom) to create high
standards. If standards are set high then they become goals that are not
usually achieved. Goals and standards are not the same thing.

Have to do what I get paid for and love, work with students in a classroom.
