I should have been more precise. In Focus makes both LCD Panels as well as
a stand-alone projectors. We have the LP-570 _projector_.

In addition, I under-estimated the capabilities of the projector we have. I
found all the details you'd ever want at
http://www.infs.com/products/projectors/lp560.html. It seems we're using
"old" technology. ;-) There are lots of newer (better?) machines out there
now, but the LP-570 works for us just fine. It retails for about $6300.

To answer your question, it projects with 300 ANSI lumens. (Note this is
very different than the lumens for an overhead with an LCD panel.) You can
get even brighter projectors (much more $$$) that are designed for the BIG
screens, but probably are unecessary for typical classroom applications.

IMHO, 300 to 400 projector lumens is fine. (Again, this is _different_ from
an overhead projector with panel. Check out the Web site above.)
