Subject: RE: Take Home Exams

When I have used take-home exams I usually make 4 different versions of the
exam for the class and require that all work be shown to receive credit. I
usually structure the exam so that the questions are more involved, forcing
the students to do multiple steps and higher level thinking skills. Sometime
I will include essay questions also. I find that these test take longer to
grade, but for the "right"class they can be quite useful. Good luck.

S Take Home Exams

Aloha Mathfolks!

Does anyone have experience with the use of take home exams?

Do you think they are effective?

What about cheating?

I would be interested in your thoughts, wisdom and anecdotes.

Many Thanks,

Robert Garry
