Dusty's response to Annette about homework questions in math class was great. I would just add that I find that the questions frequently stress misunderstandings that never occurred to me. Homework questions also frequently allow me to delve deeper into the material than I did in the original lecture which deepens the students' understanding and makes the class more interesting!
