1) office hours
2) before or after class
3) tutoring lab
Only if significant numbers of students are having trouble with a
particular problem will I spend class time on it--and then at the end
rather than the beginning. This cuts down on gratuitous questions, since
those who just want to stall will leave at the end anyway and those who
are interested will stay over. It seems harsh, but class time is a
valuable commodity--I tell my students that i will make time for them
any time to answer questions *outside* of class.
