Central Elementary recently held the school Spelling Bee. Each 4th and 5th grade classroom chose winners to compete in the school wide competition. Sidney Kidd was the overall winner for CES! Sidney then went on to win the Morgan County Spelling Bee!

Central Elementary celebrated the Christmas season with the Pre-K through 3rd grade program held on December 18. The faculty, staff, and students appreciate everyone who came out to enjoy the beautiful singing!

Fifth grade students "cut a rug" as they enjoyed performing the annual square dance at CES. The classes and Mrs. Tabitha did a terrific job with the performances!

Fourth Graders showed off their creativity as they held their annual hat parade for the rest of the school to see on Friday, November 6.

On Friday, October 16 students learned about fire prevention and safety. The Wartburg Volunteer Fire Department visited with the students and showed the equipment along with the trucks they use.

Central Elementary celebrated Grandparent's Day on September 9. Many grandparents came out and enjoyed spending the afternoon with their grandchildren.

This year Central Elementary started a new bully free program. The students learn about what bullying is and what actions to take if bullying is taking place. The high school band, cheerleaders, and flag core helped kick-off for the program on September 4.

Central Elementary 1st graders participated in a voluntary reading program this past summer. If the students met the requirements for hours of reading logged during the summer they got to enjoy pizza, prizes, and other special events on Friday, August 21.

Central Elementary students received a treat over the summer as a new climbing wall was installed in the gym. This along with a new outdoor slide was provided by the CES P.T.O.. This organization is responsible for almost all the playground equipment used at the school.
