Knoxville native Todd Steed began working at WUOT in 2007 as jazz coordinator. His role has expanded to include operations, fill-in host of All Things Considered, and hosting Studio 865/Flipside.
Todd got his start in radio at WUTK, where he served as music director while earning his undergraduate degree in journalism at UT. He later earned a master’s degree in education, also at UT.
Prior to working at WUOT, Todd worked overseas in both Lithuania and Indonesia. Upon returning to the states, he was a study abroad coordinator at UT's Center for International Education. Other work has included artist management (Abigail Washburn, Julia Nunes), recording and performing music, and serving as a host for several live events around Knoxville.
In his spare time, he crashes out on the couch and eats garlic popcorn while watching obscure documentaries on subjects such as the history of tea, unloved jazz guitarists, and how to raise hound dogs. His couch is located in his beloved North Knoxville.
